SF Giants LHP Barry Zito cleared waivers this morning, which means he can be traded (except his contract has a full no-trade clause, so I'm confused), sent down to the minors, tossed into a dumpster, or hired as the team chef-and-yoga-and-meditation consultant.
It'll be interesting to see what happens next. Unlikely that he will be traded; not even the Stros are that desperate. There's still a bunch of money left on his contract.
