[Backdated to Christmas Day. X wouldn't forget the date, even if Mun was a RL forgetful braindead slacker sort. A-also, the post may be a bit lamer than usual. Brain's fightin' me here.]Hey, everyone! Merry Christmas
( Read more... )
Excellent! I'll postpone my trip to the memorial until after we've exchanged gifts!
[OOCness returned: Here is fine, unless you'd like to log it! Sorry, I've been holding off on making another journal post with my characters because my schedule for the past week has been kind of crazy... @.@* It's in process of calming down now and I'm about caught up.]
[No worries there; just wanted to know what was best. If here works fine, we'll do it here. =3]
[Time compression is a go! X makes good time on the way to the library; mere minutes after the above response, the library doors open and he strides in, not even slightly winded for the trouble. Under one arm, he carries a small green-wrapped box, adorned with simple but pretty red bow. Is our librarian within sight?]
[Gift exchange, gift exchange~♪ X waits for Yomi to get started on her present before opening his. Cue the Ocarina of Time treasure chest music...!]
[Within the box X gave (the size of which should've probably been more greatly detailed by mun) is not one book, but three. The cover art of the largest features what appears to be a lunar landscape; one distant planet and another, closer ice-blue world hang aloft in the starry night sky. Crafted in fancy gold-colored font is the title, Phantasy Star, with the smaller silvery subtitle Tales of Algo just underneath it; the bottom of the cover lists the various contributing authors. The other books are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, and a pocket-sized version of The Time Machine by H.G. Wells, rather than the Jules Verne that Mun mistakenly affixed to it. Silly mun. Anyway, X speaks on them
( ... )
[OOC: Har, delicious coincidence, that. XD - I had it for a while; sister unit picked it up from the library for me, but I didn't get very far in it. A-and this post may be lamer than usual; the muse seems to have temporarily abandoned me again. =( ]
Hmm. A western...
[Almost subconsciously, he opens it up and skims through a couple of pages. X-baby's face takes on a distant expression for a few seconds before he catches himself, and we have something resembling this face! He sheepishly shuts it.]
Sorry. I'll be sure to let you know what I think once I get somewhere in it. I think it says something that I'm already getting drawn in...
[OOC: I picked it up a while back when a friend and I were doing a writing project involving mythology, but then her computer went kerplooie and it got postponed and we haven't gotten back to it yet ^.^*]
It's a very good book! And it's very special to me. I made a wonderful friend with that book, and, well... it made me happy to pass it along to another wonderful friend!
[In another dimension, you can hear a mun go "awww." You kinda touched X's artificial heart with that one, Yomi. He's actually quiet for a minute. ...and now something like this.]

[OOCness: RP the gift exchange here, or is there a better option? I first thought to do it in Yomiko's next journal post.]

Ooo! Thank you so much, Mr. X! They all look wonderful! I can't wait to read them!
[And when X opens his package, he'll find a hardcover copy of Tombstone, by Matt Braun, a classic western.]
I hope you'll enjoy it. ...it was the first book I read after I appeared in Memento Eden!

It was real thoughtful of you to give me your first book, Yomiko. Thanks again.
