Chasing Fireflies

Our lives are a constant state of motion longing for tranquility within a fleeting grasp. Tranquility is a state of existence formed in our spiritual makeup; an intangible object. The harder we try to obtain it, the less we understand its nature. It is like a firefly playing hide and seek at midnight. Its passive allure is easily frightened and refused to be caught in our nets of desperation. It has the ability to recognize when we will appreciate its lasting value and impact ~ and only then will its grace fall upon us, quietly, like a cleansing exhale we didn't know we needed ~ a silent transformation. It is the fruit, not of labor, but from a deep rooted vine of faith.
