Why do words get twisted?

I'm posting this one because of a recent weekend event that we furs just went on..

Last weekend we all went to what we call in Columbus Ohio as the Gallery Hop. All in all it was a fun and enjoyable weekend event. But as we all know there is sometimes a bump in the road that will disrupt a perfect weekend. During casual conversation some events of the recent past came up about a select few people (I wont mention names) and in the process of this talk it was mentioned back to one of those people who subsiquently called me on the phone about it.

Now here is a few points some of what i mentioned in an earlier post about this that troubles me.

1. Don't call to argue something with me if your not going to tell me names of who is talking about it. If I can't call you on your sources don't call me.

2. I was personally sitting right in the middle of the situation that was talked about. Everything I said I saw with my own eyes. Don't try to deny it.

3. Don't accuse me of starting something when I only offered my opinion on a topic that was brought up by OTHER PEOPLE. In fact I have heard this same topic brought up by over 8 other people in the last 4 months.

Now why I'm posting this is cause honestly I don't fully remember how it came up only that I was responding to some other conversation. I know what I said to some degree and I don't make things up, so why twist what was said and how it was brought up to this other person?

If the persons involved in this old problem want to talk about it, were not doing it on a telephone or in emails. You set a time when I will be in front of you and we can ALL talk at once in a room. I don't appreciate being called on a cell phone when I'm trying to drive and have someone trying to argue with me about something stupid.

One thing these people are going to find out is that "I am not afraid of you, so stop trying to be intimidating when you speak to me."
