In defense of my friends
Wow, what a night I've had...
Well this incident starts out with the usual one friend decides to leave abusive boyfriend. For weeks this guy has been stalking her by calling her literally every 15 seconds from 1am till 8am while she is attempting to talk on the phone with her new romantic interest (not me). One week ago from this past sunday, this guy self inflicted a wound to his hand which nearly caused him to bleed out. and this is when he started getting freaky. Tonight today though was the final straw for this guy. Myself, Knightwolf, and 5 of my other friends were out chatting with each other in Sunbury Ohio when this crazy X came out of no where swinging a lead pipe, it threatened all of us and proceeded to move towards her. We kept her safe and knew this guy was being evicted out of the apartment complex where he's been causing all this trouble in the morning. SO we left well enough alone after taking the bar away from him. In proceeding to walk back to the apartment we all met up at, along the way back several of the residents in the complex continued to tell us how the X had threatened them and their children with knives and hot oil. Needless to say this really pissed me off even more then I was already. The worst was yet to come. After a nice dinner with friend we went to take the dogs out for a short walk and in the process of taking them out, I heard one of my friends yell at her to come back. I see her disappear around the corner to his apartment entrance, thus I took off after her. Rounding the corner, from what I saw was her being pulled inside and when I got to the door it was slammed in my face. Before I could open the door and help her the door was locked. I continued to hear her screaming and yelling at him and before all this occurred I was told he was seen with a knife in the doorway.
Now I was faced with a life threatening situation...
I called 911 and told the police what was going on and that we needed them there immediately as I felt she was in serious danger. 911 sent the police code 3 and they arrived within 8 minutes of the call. About the time the first car arrived she made her way out the door unharmed thankfully but the X was about to face a serious problem. He had gone back inside seeing she was around us and the police went to the door to ask him to come out. Needless to say he yanked the door open with his hand in his pocket. Next thing I witness is two polices officers drawing their guns on him and demanding he get his hands up. I'm thankful he complied with them.
Now that he was handcuffed and put in a car, one officer came back to the apartment with a glove on and he carried off what appeared to be a knife (couldn't really tell) and took it back to his car. Returning from his car he had all of us fill out witness statements of what happened. So this apartment complex can now rest easy tonight knowing he isn't there tonight at least.
I never thought in my lifetime I would witness a severe case of stalking and literally see over a period of 2 months someone go from being somewhat normal to being totally insane. And I do mean clinically crazy. I'm just happy I was able to save my friend from becoming another statistic to some deadbeat stalker who killed his victim. But I do fear, what next? will he come back again after he gets out or will he learn his lesson and stay away?
Well I know for sure, I will defend my friends aggressively if needed. I won't allow her to be hurt by him if I can. Let alone any one of the other friends I have who he directly threatened... *shivers*
