I know that months, weeks, days or years from now today will seem more
like a tricycle day as opposed to roller coster day...but for now I
feel a bit like I've topped the first hill on the way up to Mt.
Everest.
Today was my first official day back to work...though the morning was
spent working from home - I was focused almost only on work - and about
2 1/2 hours were spent at the office the afternoon. I found it
very refreshing to be able to give focus to work and pass the baton to
iron_clad for the afternoon.
At 11 we took Liam for his 2 month check up - and we'd cleverly
not remembered that today was imunization day - otherwise known
as "Watch the nice nurse stab your son in the thigh four times
while he screams" day. He recovered quickly - had a liesurly
lunch and we parted ways. Aparently in the car on the way home he
decided he'd rather not be cool about the whole ordeal and began a
screaming marathon.
iron_clad called me about an hour and a half later to double check when I would be headed home. We brainstomred
more ways to calm the munchkin and he decided to hit the highway
- it worked. I headed home not too long after that and after a
late afternoon snack Liam seemed much recovered.
The rest of the day was a bit touch and go. No fever so far
but he 's gone from mellow to seriously indignant
in half a tic.
The other big news was we chatted with the Dr. about suplimenting
with formula - and tonight we gave him half formula/breastmilk
and for the first time ever, we put him down in his crib awake - and he
fell asleep on his own.
Fucking Brilliant. I'm very much in favor of
iron_clad
and I now being equal opportunity feeders. I'll continue to
pump to make sure I keep my milk supply and so we can mix the formula
with some milk.
K - off to bed witih me. Squee!
iron_clad gets to feed him when he wakes up next. Happy Happity Honey Dance.
ps. he's 13 pounds and 24 3/4 inches long
