If not for it having traveled through who-knows-what in the system, it would actually be decent for drinking. Though personally, I've always thought Guinness overrated in terms of taste. I thought it all rust at first.

Rust can be discolored depending on various chemical balances. Its how the Statue of Liberty obtained its known green hue. (Originally, it had a brown color, being made of copper.) But I'm not a chemist, so I may be off.
