Harry had to argue with Millicent quite a bit before she would let Evan and Henrietta be buried together.
I teeter back and forth on whether Draco or Harry has changed the most from the beginning. Still Harry, probably, but Draco's very close.
In a sense, nothing ends. That's the sense I want to give of this- I can't tell the complete story because it lasts years, centuries, and doesn't all fit nearly into novel format.
Hands down this is my favorite thing that you have written thus far. I love all the little "snapshots" you've written, and how much you manage to say in two small paragraphs.
Thank you! I was kind of nervous about how people would react to this, because I know many people would prefer to have full POV scenes of their favorite characters. But there's just no way that I could do everyone, and with some scenes, an omniscient viewpoint works much better than a character's (I would have been deeply puzzled about how to do Henrietta's burial scene with Evan, for example; even Harry's eyes wouldn't really work). Glad this appealed.
Personally, I think that this style worked much better than a full POV scene would have anyway. It gives the readers room to interpret how things are now and what they'll be like later, instead of simply reading what happens next.
Okay, i was about to write taht I don't know which of these shapsnots I like the most, but then I realised that I did have a favourite as it is the one that brought tears to my eyes. Draco visiting Connor's grave every week, I thought was the most beautiful one. I can't really express just how much I loved it.
I can't really pick between the rest of them, but I was looking forward to seeing how the snakes got along, and I was not disappointed! They are so super cute! I wants them for my own!
If I had the patience I would tell you how I absolutely adore each and every photograph in detail, because they're all so very poignant, and just the right amount of lovely, whether they are confrontational, revelations, or meetings, they're all... perfect.
You're welcome! The snake snapshot made me grin the most, but I was bawling when I did the Draco one. I don't even know why. I hadn't planned on him visiting Connor's grave, and the information he did is confined to one sentence. Stupid emotions.
I like it that people like it! *does little dance*
"The snake snapshot made me grin the most, but I was bawling when I did the Draco one."
*Kairi grins wryly* Me, too. I felt kind of silly to be crying over the way Draco chose to honor Connor, but I couldn't really help it. There was something about that snapshot that stabbed at my heart. Proud Draco, taking the time every week to lay flowers (oh and what appropriate flowers!) at Connor's grave... it says a lot about how Draco feels about Connor. You managed to express so much regret and gratitude in that one little line. It was beautiful.
Me too (or is that three?). Draco is so calculated about how he does things, and how he appears in the midst of action to other people. That he honors Connor so in a private, solemn manner made me weep. I don't easily cry.
You won't know for certain, but you can imagine it. :)
I thought I'd place Peter as Defense teacher again, but, well, there's no one else better-suited to the job of Headmaster. Minerva never thought for certain that Snape would really have to take her place.

Oh Lightning!
Small typo: both of them framed by bright her. Shouldn't 'her' be 'hair'?
That was...poignant, and wonderful. 'It Ends Tonight' had just came on when I started reading this. How cliché.
I'm glad Millicent's family is free, and Evan and Henrietta being burried together was beautiful, but sad.
Go Honoria!
Oh Draco. Staring down his father, leaving flowers for COnnor every week-he's changed so much, and I am so proud. He's amazing.
Snape? Unchangable? If the press only knew. That's funny.
Harry is Harry. After seven years and a hell of a lot of word, he's human and normal. It doesn't end, it goes on.
And I'm really glad.

Thank you VERY much for this intermission.

I don't want this to be over.

I could end it today, since the remaining chapters are short, but I don't want to. I'll wait for tomorrow.

Now there's a frightening thought! Yipes. I'm very curious about what the Stone will do with this new knowledge and I guess we won't ever know. Drat!
Love that Peter is Headmaster - Snape was quite unsuited and what a perfect place for Peter.
Love the snapshots of Thomas and Snape.
And hasn't Draco come into himself at last. Wonderful.
