[There's a pretty irritated Jack wandering around Cherrygrove. He's been here a few days now. He'd assumed he was having a stupid dream, but nope. He's somehow stuck in the middle of nowhere with a fish that won't leave him alone.]
[At first, he'd found it kinda funny. It was the most stupid looking fish he'd ever seen, and it kept saying "Karp, Karp" over and over. He wasn't sure fish could normally speak, but whatever. He'd started to walk away from it. ...It had flopped along after him. Cue the confused blinking and the walking away again. No, it was following him. He'd run right down "Route 29" and that goddamned fish did not quit. Somewhat alarmed, he'd hidden in a building called a Pokemon Center. He'd been greeted by a woman who asked him what was wrong. She seemed kind enough, so he explained (awkwardly, mind you) that there was a talking fish following him and it was kind of freaking him out. At first, he was convinced she was going to laugh at him. Instead, she went outside and brought the... demon fish thing inside. Oh God, it had waited outside for him. ...It was Vamp, wasn't it? He was a freaky vampire who could transform into a stupid looking fish and when he least expected it the fish would change back and he'd die horribly. That explained his swimming abilities! But the woman didn't see it that way, and started handing the fish to him. She didn't quite understand why he backed off so fast that he tripped over his own feet.]
[An hour or so later, he had exited the Pokemon Center with the stalker fish in his arms. The woman had explained that it was a "Pokemon", and that he should really listen to the random device that appeared magically in his pocket after the strange woman calling herself his mother hurried him out of a random house and wouldn't let him back in again. He'd already taken to calling the fish "Karp" and "stalker fish" when she told him it was called a Magikarp, and pretty much followed this with how it wasn't going to leave him alone any time soon. It didn't stop him from hoping that maybe it would get bored and leave him alone, but... it was still with him. He'd just put it in the Pokeball and pretended it wasn't there for a day, and then he'd tried throwing it in the sea. He wasn't too surprised when it just swam back to the shore.]
[Now, Jack's just sitting by the shore with his feet in the water, Karp swimming around his feet and dutifully Splashing water at him as he tries to drink something he got out of a vending machine earlier.]
Quit it, you stupid fish!
