Arrival

Eh? What the...?

Okay, this isn't exactly what I had in mind when I filed a request for some time off!

...

Where is this place, anyway? At first I thought it was some big elaborate joke, but considering the technology being used, I don't think this place is anywhere on Earth. If it is, well, guess I'll just feel silly, then.

Little help?

Um, I guess you can say this place is a city in kind of another dimension...

Really? That's fascinating!

Er...at least, it would be if there were a way out of this place. Really now! Why are they stockpiling us here? And why that guy of all people?

Whoever 'they' are.

THAT guy, the one who responded before you did. His name's Vega, real piece of work.

...different worlds...?

What world are you from?

Oh. Villain, or just plain jerk?

yeah... it's kinda complicated...

Um, I think it's name was Gaia... We usually refer to it as 'The Planet" though...
Pretty normal compared to some of the worlds I've heard about...

Villain, big time. He's wanted in at least thirteen countries for charges of murder for starters.

Just be careful around him, huh?

Anyway, thanks for the heads up and the answers, this is helping a lot. Wow, I can't believe there's actually life on other planets! I'm Chun-Li, nice to meet you.

Ah.
Unfortunately, villains end up here too...

Don't worry. I'm and ex- special agent^^

No problem!
Nice to meet you ChunLi. My name's Elena

Ex-special agent, huh? Nice! I'm with Interpol, myself. International crimefighting agency, for the most part.

So there's more than him running around, huh? Can't say that sits too well with me. Troublemakers will be troublemakers, I suppose, and if they can't play nice like everyone else, I'll just have to take them down.

Yeah. The team I was in was called the Turks. In fact there's a few of the here too. ....Unfortunately I was fired because well, I didn't exactly fit the part...
That's great!

True...

They fired you? Here? Well that was stupid of them.

Look, from what I've been researching, you don't really get paid here, right? So you're not going to starve without them. And if you really love your work, then who are they to say you can't do it anymore? Work on your own terms! Show them exactly what they're missing!

I know... I've moved on since then. And life is fine.

By the way, have you founf a place to stay yet? If not, I think there's room at my apartment

For real? That'd be great! Just a temporary thing, though, okay? I don't like to impose, and with Mighty Mask over there threatening to 'visit' me in my sleep, I'd rather you not get involved if at all possible.

Love to. I've got all kinds of questions. Uh...so how do I get there from the airship docks? And what kind of currency do they take here? I've got a couple of different kinds in my wallet, thought I might pick up some Chinese take-out on the way.

It's in the southern part of the city, the brick building with plants and, thanks to my neighbor, artisticly tagged walls.
And they don't really ask for any money...

Seriously? Heh heh, guess I'll have to really watch myself around those bakeries, then.

Okay, I'll be in the area soon. Keep an eye out for me? I'm the one with the hairbuns.
