Things that are FUCKING AWESOME these days:
* My head wound is healing up really well. It's a barely noticable scab at this point, and will probably be a teensy scar, but that's okay. It has now just been reduced to a good story to tell = AWESOME.
* There was a live swing band for the post-class, open-dance last night. It was the first time I've stayed for the open dance and it was faaaaaantastic. Tons of people (which also made the room both hot and sweaty smelling, but then, I was hardly one to throw rocks) meant that I had plenty of partners. I danced SO HARD from 8-11:30 that I was shaking by the time I got home! There was also an adorable boy who threw me around the dance floor several times and wants to take me out. We threw Shakespeare quotes to each other whilst swing dancing = AWESOME!
* Speaking of adorable boys, I have a 2nd date with the cute-patootie Bookstore Boy. We've apparently been eyeing each other for about 3 years now, but were too shy to ask each other out. And then we got matched on eHarmony! Epic lulz. He's completely charming and
notlostonme will vouch for the delicious factor. He and I can talk about books for hours = AWESOME!
* ALSO tonight, I am getting an iPhone! I popped down to the new AT&T Retail store in West Seattle on Wednesday, as my phone is just about to die on me, to cruise the merchandise and to set up my discount with them (thanks, McK, for taking 18% off my monthly bill!), which should offset the data storage plan. I was contemplating an HTC Aria ($140 after rebate), but then the guy said "oh btw, we have the iPhone 3GS that is going for $100 now, out the door!" (meaning no rebate to hassle with). They were getting the shipment in Thursday or today, and since I get paid today, off I go! Joining the digital age = AWESOME!
* Tomorrow is the Renaissance Faire for Lady Gretchen, Lord Eric and myself. I am seriously excited about my costume, because I have so many costume "parts" now, I can start to mix and match without any additional costs incurred, or stress for Gretchen. We didn't think the faire was going to happen this year, but it is, so yay! And the fairy-artist Amy Brown will be there this weekend, so I am hoping to meet her, and maybe get a new print (autographed?). Dressing up like a fairy wench = AWESOME!
* Plans are getting started for the annual Halloween Show, The Ghost Game IV: Devil & the Deep Blue Sea. I've started making contact for dessert donations, and have requested a corporate sponsorship donation from work. It's going to be an awesome show, you guise, and I have some phenomenal ideas for the decorations! Will you pretty please come see it!?!?! There are group rates (tables of 5 people), so get a table together! I will be sending out a FB invite, shortly :) There are 5 evening shows this year, and 1 matinee, I believe. AND Gretchen,
entropic_system and I are working on my costume design, which will be a variation of a mermaid dress = AWESOME.
* Next Saturday evening, I have a fire spinning performance! It will be down at Camp Long, where a bunch of you came to see
ermac in Shakespeare in the Park. Won't you please, please come see me, too? I'll only be performing for about 5 minutes, but the Cabiri will be a doing a full aerial show on their freestanding outdoor apparatus, Daedalus, and they are gorgeous. It just might preview part of the Halloween show, too...! I also had a fair bit of contribution to the choreography for the fire piece, which should be really cool. Playing with fire = AWESOME.
* I had
eriksdb and his darling Shelley down for dinner on Tuesday. It was a bit of an experiment on the pasta, which they seemed to enjoy, but it wasn't one of my favorites. But I did warn them, they were my guinea pigs for the recipe! I'm just glad they were happy and satisfied. But the BESTEST part, unanimously, was the Margarita Ice-Cream Pie! Even if it did come with a Crumbtastrophe, which involved my blender, food processor and a raging torrent of swear words, it turned out maaarvelously tasty and I will totes make this again! Ice cream + limeade + tequila + preztel crust = AWESOME.
*Other tidbits:
- I've been on a slightly obsessed organizational spree, lately. I'm going through my LJ tags, all 1,004 of them, and I'm trying to whittle them down to an appropriate number. Currently down to 897. I've also been restructuring my Netflix cue, because I am a neeeeerd.
- Lady Godiva had her driver's side window busted off last weekend. The only car on a dead-end street to get damaged. Gawd. The mirror is cracked, but attached, so at least I can still drive. The mirror frame is detatched, and cracked, but technicially all still in one piece. My poor darling.
- We are incredibly shorthanded at work lately. At any given point, we are usually half-staffed or a third-staffed. I am not particularly amused by this, since I'm always here. Oh well.
And some Friday Funnies for you (as if you haven't seen them...!)
One of the naughtiest lolcats I've seen yet!
