One way or another I'm gonna see ya, I'm gonna meetcha meetcha meetcha meetcha

I'm at work. Problem is, I have the attention span of a magpie surrounded by pretty shiny things. I mean, I could be working really hard but - OOOOOH! SHINY!

C'est la Ashley!

Tonight, Gretchen and I are attending the opening night of PNB's Sleeping Beauty. I was able to get a reduced price on her ticket with my mini-season subscription. This is one of my favorite storylines (seriously, who is NOT envious of a girl who gets to take a totally uninterrupted nap!?), plus I'm a sucker for Tchaikovsky in the worst way. We are getting Thai food beforehand, and maybe a drink afterhand, so it should be an overall excellent evening!

In case you might have missed my totally squeed-out post on Facebook, one of my favorite groups is coming to the West Coast! This is practically unheard of, although they may have gone to Canada recently.

But this summer, they are performing at a Renaissance Faire down in Eugene, Oregon. I AM SO THERE. I don't care if I'm going alone (although, a road trip with friends is ALWAYS better, right?).
So the Baebes are performing at Fairieworlds, which looks to be an awesome set up. I probably wouldn't stay overnight unless I was with friends to split the cost. Plus, my sister lives two hours away... so I might ask to spend Friday and Saturday nights at her place. But we shall see. Oh yes, we shall see. But one way or another, I'm gonna be there! And totally decked out in medieval garb. YES.

I'm also a fan of the TNT Robin-Hood-esque, heist show Leverage, which is awesome and stars Gina Bellman, who was one of my favorites on the British sitcom Coupling. But Leverage also has an actor that I developing a thing for (he's the hitter in the group) - Christian Kane. You might know him as the asshat in Just Married who follows Brittany Murphy around on her honeymooon with Ashton Kutcher.
Anyway, Christian is also apparently a pretty awesome singer, and he is perfoming at the end of March at this club called Dante's in Portland. He's country, with a bit of an edge. I also think he's pretty damn yummy, with a growly speaking voice.
I really want to go down for his performance, but it's on a Wednesday night. Harumph. Decisions... well, the show does film in PDX, so it's quite likely that he'll perform there again.

Okay, back to productive wor- OOOOOH, SHINY!

renaissance faire, performance, magpie tendencies, dance ballet
