Lulz of my Day:
* The other day, in typing out a job description from a tech, I accidently put in "ordered jew parts" instead of "ordered new parts." I suddenly got an image of asking for "jew parts" - Yes, I'd like 2 uncircumsized penises, please, and a chosen hand, or something.

* Twilight Fans Unite! in Forks, WA. I wonder where they all stayed - I blinked, and nearly missed it!

* We have a new Customer: Lothlorien Apartments. Not idly do the leaves of Lorien fall! I would SO live there! Please to be providing Hot Elf with first/last months rent, mkay?

* My birthday is on English Toffee Day - therefore, next year you must all present me with English Toffee.

Conundrum:
Shawn and I have our One-Year 'Versary coming up in a few weeks, and I thought that I could get him keys to my apartment. Small, symbolic, useful, right? Well, I can definitely get a copy made of my apartment door (and I did - he'll be getting a key with an American Muscle car on it, and mine is the Union Jack, of course). But I can't get a copy of the outer-door key. It doesn't say "Do Not Duplicate," but I went to at least one place where the lady took one look at it and said "oh, this is a security door key, isn't it? We don't have any keys for that." My apartment manager will not let me have a spare (if I get locked out, call the onsite personnel, which I didn't know we had, and he won't let me give it to my boyfriend because that would imply that he's a "tenant." Hogwash, I say).
So I have a key to my individual unit, but not a way for Shawn to actually get into the door. Apparently the call box works, but only if you have a local phone number linked to it, and mine is a 253-area code.
My problem now is, do I give him the apartment key, so that at least he can get into my place if he can get into the building? Or is kind of a meaningless gesture? Plus, I'm not sure what else to give him - I don't want to make a huge production out of the event, but it IS a full year, and I think it should be celebrated, don't you?

Awesome Stuff:
Friday at work, I won 3rd place in office Cobbler Bake-off! I used my mom's peach cobbler base recipe, and a Weight-Watcher's cornmeal for the topping. Got box of Belgian Chocolates. Need to post in my cooking blog, heh. The guy who organized it won 1st place (WHAT WHAT?), but apparently he used lard in his cooking, so he got full flavor. Pshaw, I say! Rigged contest, true story. :P

My parents were visiting this weeked. We went to see Phantom of the Opera, which they have never seen live (they love the movie - I told them that's because they haven't experienced it LIVE). Naturally, they adored it. I got such shivers when the chandelier started to raise during the opening sequence, and nearly started to cry. I also mouthed the words to just about everything. Such an amazing show. A+++, would go see again (which would make it my FOURTH time... or would it be my fifth? I've lost track).

BPAL order is in! And they so-thoughtfully sent along SIX imps (I had thought there would only be three). So by tomorrow night, I will be in possession of 9 new perfumes to flaunt around everyone. Need to organize a BPAL swap or something (along with a book swap, clothing swap, etc.).

I learned something pretty cool in our aerial class yesterday. I went from a Coffee Break (that's Gretchen in the position from an earlier photo shoot) into a Da Vinci (not the best angle, though. Here is a Cabiri member doing it). Basically you lay with the bar going along your spine, and then you pivot on your tailbone to go from a horizontal position to a vertical one. It's great, it feels like the most advanced thing I have personally done, and I felt very confident making the transition. I also have bruises developing on my back, and I am very proud of them, teehee.

Schedule for this weekend includes:
Friday - Fremont Oktoberfest. Anyone else going that day? I saw a number of you there last year...
Saturday - Greek Festival. Anyone else want to go to this one with Gretchen, Eric, Shawn and me?

kitchen witchin', the mechanic, bpal, schedulemania, funny stuff, dance aerial, seattle, theatre, life or something like it
