Get a load of me, get a load of you, Walkin' down the street, and I hardly know you.

So, garage sale day is over! But first, I bring you a most hysterical lolcat:

more cat pictures

And now onto the sale! Which, by the way, was far too cold for my liking!

Here is all of my crap, set out the night before to be loaded up this morning!

My most unusual item! I reduced it to $5 for this guy who wanted it for his daughter.

The people next to me brought their 16-week-old puppy, a purebred lemon beagle named Oliver. OOOH, SO CUTE! And well-behaved!

We were visted later on by Lola, the dog of the owner of Divina, a clothing store across the street from Hotwire Coffee

And my favorite picture of the whole day, this little boy wandering around with what I'll call his Childproof Lid! Don't worry, I asked his mother (after the fact) if it was okay to take the picture.

So all in all, I made about $30! And the day also included the following:
* A guy early on who was buying some VHS movies, and wanted to know if I'd watch them with him. I was nice, but said "no, thanks." And then he wanted to know my name (I gave him my middle name, which he DID NOT NOTICE that the sign said "Ashley's Stuff"!). Then he wanted to know if I was still in high school!

* I also had to explain to that guy the plot of Dirty Dancing. WTF?

* An older man (seriously... in his late 70's or so), who was pushing a baby stroller. I commented that the little boy was really cute (he was), and the man said "well, I'd tell you that I'm using him as a last ditch effort [to pick up women], but I don't think you'd go for me!" Uh, that would be correct, sir!

* Hotwire Coffee also provided bratwurst and hamburgers to their sellers for lunch, and then brought us Bloody Mary's! Score!

So then I took my remaining books to Pegasus Books (the guys there are SO nice, and I found out the cute boy is named Jimmy. Yes, I'm taken, but no, I'm not blind!). I found 3 books to buy, as well! Empress: A Novel by Shan Sa (about China's female ruler in the 7th century), The Wild Swans by Peg Kerr (an adaptation of The Six Swans fairy tale), and Douglas Preston's The Codex (contemporary thriller). For about $8. Score!

And finally, I went to the consignment shop, Funky Jane's, that is kitty-corner to Pegasus Books. And they were not accepting consignment today, but I was looking for a big purse. And I found one (it's for work), and I *also* got my biggest steal of the day. A most adorable Louis Vuitton mini purse that retails for $425 - and I got it for $15! BONUS SCORE!

In unrelated news, I think I'm killing my succulent plants. Can anybody help with advice on how to baby them back into the world of the living?!?!

So how was your day? You'll have to ask scearley about the Fabio books he bought from me. Oh yes, he did.
