it's amazing what 11 hours of sleep and a Starbuck's run in the middle of a Friday morning can do for your productivity level! I was almost shaky today I was so full of energy.
Actually, I've been feeling energized to do a lot of things lately...
Like dance. I watched my new Center Stage the other night, and since then, all I can think about is dancing again. I mean, I'm not all that good, but I love it. I have such a blast performing on a stage when I dancing, more than I EVER did on the piano. I felt sexy (even though I often looked like an over-stuffed sausage casing), and very much alive.
So I'm going to start taking beginning adult ballet classes. Maybe swing too, eventually. Just for fun, and to actually enjoy being active. Maybe it's the spring, I always feel like I'm semi-hibernating in the winter, I get so sedentary. I wake up with the earth in the spring.
I also watched my last three RDG concerts tonight. Wow, what nostalgia. I liked all my dances, and some were actually better than I remember, especially Renee's Fever, even though I know she hates it. Looking back 2 years later, I'm still glad I did that one, and it was actually pretty good... maybe because I know all the headaches she went through to get it that way.
I'm also inspired to get out and do things, and see people. I'm feeling the urge to go shopping... still. Since I haven't satisfied it yet. And we all know what happens when one denies those compelling urges... implosion!.
Am also going to see
local band Friday Mile tomorrow night at The Showbox. Anybody want to come with, and keep me from getting hit on by creepy balding 40-year-olds and/or their truck-driving uglier brother (yes, those have happened)???
periwinklemist?
atrayah?
rebel_ebeth (you've seen this guy with me before, this summer)?
tearsofscarlet & co.? Well, even if you don't go with me, you should still go see them sometime!
Oh yah, and I got new glasses ordered today, they should be ready in about a week and a half. The frames are
these Burberry ones, with the classic Burberry plaid on the inside of the frames. Yay... my coworker calls them birth control, haha. They're delightfully trendy. So I don't listen to Allison, because she's also someone who got drunk this past weekend and accidentally stole a wheelchair from some poor old lady with no legs. I kid you not.
My boss told me that I'm doing a great job, and that she hasn't been hearing the normal complaints from the mechanics when a new dispatcher comes on board, which is a REALLY good thing. She said that if she was, that we'd be doing a LOT more talking in private, and it hasn't really been a problem at all.
And an example of the duality in my life, just for balance. The other night I enjoyed cocktail hour at Seattle's most private club. Tonight, I took the bus home through the ghetto of White Center. Aaaaaah, the mountain that is ahead of me to socially climb...
