I didn’t get the opportunity to spend much time with you at the ceremonies but I am writing again to let you know how glad I am to see you alive, not to mention restored to your proper self. I know you are terribly busy and frankly I do not think it is good for you to have so many visitors and strangers around after what you have been through but even so, I am selfish and would like to see you after your other children have gone to school.
I never know what to say to you in a letter because I would not be here, if it were not for you; and the worse things get the more glad I am that I am here, even though I do think of the others at home quite often. Of course my father cares not what happens outside Brocéliande, and my mother will be pleased to bend to the prevailing wind as she has always done.
There are matters I wish to discuss with you that I would rather not commit to parchment. No troubles; only it is your good advice that I would have, if you can spare the time, and the chance to see you happy again for myself.
