It's A Beautiful Day, Don't Let It Slip Away

No truer words have ever been spoken. It is an absolutely gorgeous day here in Chattanooga and the thought of being cooped up in a radio studio for the next four hours is a bit sad considering I just spent an hour and a half just riding around with the windows down. I'll do that every once in a while. I just pick a random road - like Igou Gap Rd. or Standifer Gap Rd. - and I'll just head in one direction on them and see where I end up. It's a beautiful drive on those roads as you head up White Oak Mountain. I absolutely adore spring time in south. It's something everyone should experience at some point in time.

Yesterday I got home from work around 11:30 a.m.ish and had a sandwich and some chips. Kerry had stayed at the apartment Thursday night instead of following John home at 2 a.m. and Cynthia had stayed the night with Jesse as well. She brought her dog, Beau, with her as well. It was equally beautiful outside yesterday, so the three of us took Beau to Coolidge Park and then got ice cream at Clumpie's. We got back to the apartment around 3 p.m. and I laid down to take a nap. I got up around 8 p.m. and piddled around for a while before showering and heading out to VooDoo, which - as you know - is my Friday night ritual.

All of my dance partners were preoccupied with other boys last night, which got me into trouble. I didn't want to ruin their game, so I was left without anyone to dance with. So, to kill the time, I drank instead. Every time I went to the bar, though, I got two shots and made someone do it with me. So, by the time I left around 2:30 a.m., I'd had eight pineapple upside down cake shots (which is $40 worth of alcohol by myself). I was beyond wasted. Just ask Chris, I called him. Casey, darling, I would have called you but it was late in Chattanooga and Chris is three hours behind us. I really was in absolutely no state to be driving whatsoever but was insistant on doing so because I only live across the bridge from the club. I really should not have been driving and am surprised I made it home okay.

I got in the bed around 3 a.m. I woke up around 7:30 a.m. and did the walk of shame to the bathroom to vomit twice. I laid back down until about 9 a.m. when I got up and puked two more times. Drinking is bad kids. After those last two regurgitations, I had a little talk with my stomach. I said, "Stomach, I know you're pissed at me, but this has to stop. We have to work today." I put some food and beverage in it and it appeased the stomach gods.

I got into work around 11:50 a.m. to start voicetracking my noon to 4 p.m. shift on the Max. After I wrapped that up, I headed to Panera for lunch 'cuz my stomach really wanted that. While I was sitting there, this guy walks up to my booth and sticks a phone in my face and says, "Someone's calling for you." I was thrown for a minute but then I realized it was Heather's dad, who is visiting from California, and he'd called her.

After Panera, I did the cruising around that I mentioned above, and now here I at a computer in the programming office about 40 minutes before my shift on Kiss starts. I'd normally voice track it but it's a Will Smith win it before you can buy it weekend so I have to be live. Depending on when my last giveaway is, though, I'll VT the rest of it and leave to continue enjoying this beautiful, beautiful, beautiful day.

I also have to throw in a plug for Lindsay Lohan's album Speak. It's the album I've been listening to the most lately and it's such a great, solid pop album. I'm actually kind of glad the singles - thus far - haven't done well on radio because it prevents me from being burned out on them. I think it's amazing that just a little over a month after it's release, the album went platinum with no support from radio. She sold a million albums based on video play and her name alone.

Anyhoo, have a Happy Easter tomorrow!

P.S. The computer I'm on is f'ed up a bit. I know the entry says 11:10 a.m. but I started it at 2:10 p.m.
