I made my final Connecticut stage appearance. Kiss Me, Kate had its final performance on Sunday. It was bittersweet. I was glad that the show had ended because the whole rehearsal process had been one of the more difficult ones I've experienced, what with some of the people and various situations that I had to deal with that were less than desirable. But at the same time, who knows when my next performance will be? I'm going off to school and who knows how often I'll be cast in school productions and, even if I do get cast in them, who knows when my next performance outside of school will be? Who knows if I'll ever come back to perform in Connecticut? (Hopefully, I won't unless I have a sweet contract at a full Equity house like Hartford Stage or Long Wharf.)
I leave for school the first week of September. I'm anxious to leave Connecticut and start my new journey. This is going to be an incredible four years. I am going to be on my own in the greatest city in the world to pursue my dreams. I can hear New York calling me. There are so many opportunities that await me and I can't wait to take advantage of them. I just can't wait to start my career. It's what I've been waiting 18 years for.
