BEDA 19: Planned vs. Did

Apr 19, 2009 21:18

Things I planned to do today:
-Grocery shopping.
-Return way overdue library book.
-Go for a walk to the richer part of the east side.
-Take pictures.
-Do laundry.
-Read the script for the first show I'm designing this summer.

Things I actually did:
-Slept until the sun would no longer allow it
-Ate a mini can of cinnamon rolls.
-Went to the gym.
-Grocery shopped.
-Made a delicious dinner (I'm so ready to be living with people again and not be cooking for just myself - it's so tiring)
-Watched a few episodes of Buffy.

...yup. I consider that a productive day off. At least I went to the gym, right?

Now that I think about it, I guess this has really been the first complete day off I have had to myself in...3 weeks?
Yup. The last Monday of the run of my last show (in the theatre, during show run, we get Mondays off but work the other 6 days of the week).
From there I closed the show that Sunday, jumped back into 9-5 on Monday, was in Michigan that weekend, another 9-5 week, went to Boston, another 9-5 week (including this Saturday). And now here I am.
Wow.
No wonder I was perfectly OK with sitting at home doing as little as possible.

I'm in the middle of planning how I'm leaving here at the end of May.
When I moved out here, I was initially thinking "Well, let's see if we like the place first and might want to stay...then we'll go from there."
However, when I found the apartment that I liked, it required getting a bed. Which ended up also including a nightstand. And then a desk was added. My parents sent me things...And then my cat arrived. I've got a lot more here than I planned on.
I started thinking about what my friend Kyle told me at one point when we were leaving college. 'Just wait until you get a place and you start accumulating things. Then you don't want to leave behind those things.'  I've always been the one that wants to travel, and I guess now I'm paying a small* price for that. I have in fact acquired THINGS. And I really lucked out with this bed and may or may not be a little in love with it.

U-Haul really should let you take their vans and return them at different locations. A truck for what I have is just a bit overkill.

Alright, enough for now. I promise to be more interesting tomorrow.

...back to frying my brain with Joss Whedon's version of vampires...
