Sheffield, bikes, and banks

This weekend just gone and the bank-holiday monday and the tuesday / wednesday after it (26th -> 27th August) were spent in joyous communion with my mates. Chris came up from Plymouth, then Jinbee, Chris and I went all the way up to Sheffield to visit the ginger fool also known as Adam. The weekend consisted mainly of farting, talking about kinky sex, playing Donky Konga, and (them) drinking lots of alcohol. All in all, a bloody good weekend. I was a bit tired for most of it since there were many late nights, and I had not got much sleep before going up there (I had accidentally stayed up until 6am on saturday morning after my friday night out... possibly due to the adrenaline of averaging 110 and touching 130 mph on the way home from Jemma's place). Also I think I've had enough of playing "Settlers Of Catan" for a little while (it's a superb board game and I reccomend anyone that hasn't played it to do so) as I have done that way too much recently. Was also a little below par due to still getting used to singledom again, but that'll be an ongoing improvement really.

The bike situation is a bit of a joke at the moment. You may remember that it stopped working the day after I had thanked God for its continued reliability at house group a week and a half ago, then with some persuasion from a Landie's battery it started working again, and I checked a few things on it with my dad to try to make sure it stayed ok. That was before going to Sheffield. The thursday after getting back (so the first day I wanted to ride it into work) it refused to start. I was not a happy bunny.
Having been told that the battery was the most likely culprit, I bought a new battery after work that day (having got the bus in and back for only 3 times the cost of the petrol and double the journey time... hooray for public transport(!) ), poured acid into battery, set on charge left overnight to get nice and healthy. The foillowing morning, I installed the new battery and... couldn't start the bike. Once again, I was not a happy bunny.
When I tried it after getting home on friday, it eventually managed to start after a lot of cranking over and full choke with a bit of throttle. Figuring it had just been sulking that morning I decided to check again on Saturday.
Today it fired up after only 5 minutes of trying and cursing. Something's definitely not quite right there. I think it's the damp that it doesn't like, but I need to post on a Kawasaki forum or some such to get a better answer. That'll be happening later today I think.

Banks are lame.
I've moved house (a month or 2 ago, but hey ho), and figured I should tell the bank my new address. I did the first bit online, but had to phone the credit card people to tell them too. During the automated call handling system, I typed the wrong security code into my phone (turns out it wanted my online banking security code, not my credit card security code... silly me), and so got my online banking locked. Then I couldn't remember my "memorable word" as I set that up about 5 years ago and have long forgotten what it was. This meant that the phone person couldn't help me, and I had to go into town. This is when I discovered the difficulty of starting my bike today. Grrr.
Thankfully though, we got the bike going and I got into town where the competent and attractive (what are the odds?!?) member of staff sorted it all out for me.

It's been a mixed few days, but hopefully is on the up now.
