Dinner with dad

Just for a change we decided not to have a curry. I'd noticed a fine dining restaurant near me - Liaisons - and it popped into my head, so we agreed to give it a try. The place was totally nondescript from the outside, and was empty when we arrived - which didn't exacttly fill me with confidence - but once the food arrived we were fine.

When they brought the bread round, we could choose from cumin, marmite and red onion, or seeded brown rolls. Light, warm and fluffy, they definitely set the scene.

I had
A pre-appetiser of White Mushroom Veloute;
Appetiser of slow braised English lamb, onion and black peppercorn icecream, garden pea salad and mint dressing;
Main course of Roast chicken jambonette, smoked chicken and black pudding boudin, potato fondant;
A pre-dessert of raspberry couli topped with hot rice pudding topped with chocolate sauce;
Dessert of dark chocolate and chili pave, sweet chili syrup and malted milk chocolate ice cream.

Soooo good.

Dad had an appetiser of lightly spiced vine tomato and basil soup with Bloody Mary creme fraiche;
main course of wellington of hare, mushroom duxelle, herb pancake and red cabbage croquette;
and dessert of Gin and tonic panna cotta, angostura syrup and lime chocolate crisp.

He concurred that it was awesome.

Definitely going to eat there again.
