Character name: Spider-Man / Peter Parker
Fandom: Spider-Man
Trait 1: Supportive: I chose a moment where he first shows his support of Mary Jane's plan to be an actress after graduation.
Trait 2: Awkward: Might seem like an odd choice, but I love how Peter is a character who is socially awkward, and becomes a hero. My anxiety is especially strong in social situations, so seeing someone similar to me succeed is very inspiring.
Trait 3: Innocent: Another maybe strange choice, but something I find so captivating about Peter is how he is sort of innocent to the world, and wants to please everyone. I chose his wrestling match scene, because it brings forward those themes of him not fully knowing what he's getting himself into, but he embraces every situation.
Trait 4: Friendly: the quintessential Spider-Man trait. I love the moment where he uses his powers in public, and one of the first things he does is catch Mary Jane and her falling tray. He wants to be friendly and helpful, but sometimes it leads in other directions.
Trait 5: Determined: My icon choice is Peter working his pizza delivery job. One aspect of this character that really inspires me is how he isn't a completely put-together person. He's working multiple day jobs/freelance, and barely covering his rent. It's inspiring seeing someone who isn't rich because they have powers. Peter is determined to balance so many different jobs and classes, while still being a hero. Even though it doesn't always work out, he's determined to succeed on his own.
