I just want to make sure I understand because I think someone in my team has messed up. All of the edits should still exist on the piece, should they not? Or is it, you make an edit, the next person changes it, and so forth, without really knowing what was done the time before?

I'm not sure if you mean that all the edits should still be visible in the final picture? In this case I would say no, if something eventually gets covered up with some other edit that's totally okay, as long as it was visible at some point. Only the number of edits matters in the end. Or do you mean someone made an edit and someone else took it out immediately? Then I'd say it's still allowed because both people did make an edit, but it is kinda mean to someone to take their work out intentionally and would be better to not do that. Or if you mean something else, could you specify? :)

On crew_land, one person made an edit, then the next made an edit but the picture still showed the first edit, the third edit took out the first two edits entirely, making it look like neither of the first two even occurred. If some of the previous edit gets covered up, then whatever, it’s still semi-there but I’m talking completely gone. As though they started fresh. So is this accepted, or does there need to be some evidence of previous edits in the new edits? Because isn’t the claiming system almost redundant then? Everyone might as well just take the picture and change it how they want.

Oh, I understand now, and I totally agree - everyone should take the picture with all the previous edits in place. Covering them up is okay, but taking an older picture as if they didn't happen is not. I don't have any access to the crew_land comm, so I'll just say here that this kind of edit shouldn't be counted by the person who submits the final results.

Okay, I let neaptidea know since they are running it on our community. Thank you for answering, I wasn't sure I was making any sense.

This is getting a little awkward, discussing it here in the open for everyone to see. I'm not going to name anyone, although people from my team know what's going on.

I made the first edit.
Person Z made the second.
Person X made the third. They did take away previous edits, but as I see it, they didn't use the original image, they just cut out the image, making it a little smaller.
Person Z made the fourth edit. They returned some of the previous edits that had already been cut out.

If you don't count the edit that X made, even though part of that is included in the art, this is all a mess, in my opinion. It also makes it look like person Z made two edits in a row.

What do? I think we should just accept what has been done, and continue in a way that goes with the rules.

Ok, since I cannot see your team post, I was under the impression that they took the original picture again. Feel free to PM me with further questions, but as far I can say right now, as long as everyone made an edit in a chain (whether or not edits stay visible later), everyone's entry counts.

Thank you. We will continue as things are now.

The thing is, my edits were made in the far edges of the image, so that it was possible to cut them away without much difference to the original image.

That's not what happened. All edits were kept in. One edit that was removed was put back in the next edit, with additional edits to the piece.

I had incomplete information at that point, but as I said later, all your edits can be counted without any problems. :)
