dead leg
so yesterday after my bank appointment (or should i say after i got approved for my loan!!!!!!!) i went to langley to help my grandad plant some flowers for summer. we didn't actually get any planting done but we set everything up and then we went shopping for flowers (boy do some of those things have funny names; begunias..? what the hell). we also picked up potting soil and everything. my grandad's hip is much worse than it was before he had the hip surgery. it takes him probably 3 minutes just to get settled into my car so we could go. he had to lift his legs in because they were just that stiff. i thought to myself, omg, that would be the worst thing in the world. i couldn't imagine not being able to move my legs the way i wanted them. i really do take my legs for granted. everyone does. he has to walk super super slow with a walker so i stayed behind and walked with him too.
it was kinda odd. when i got back to chilliwack at around 6, i was so hot and yucky from playing in dirt all day that tyler and i decided to go down to the river for a bit. i wanted to go for a swim. tyler said he'd stay on shore and i made him reach a branch out for me to grab so i didn't get swept away down the river hahah. so i'm about 60 feet or more away from him up the river bank. far enough apart so that he couldn't hear me yell to him "bobo i'm scared" lol. finally after a couple of minutes of contemplating, i just jump in to what i thought was the deep part of the river. turns out it wasn't. when i jumped in, i smashed my knee on a rock.
i didn't think it was really that big of a deal for the rest of the day but i had to get my mom to drive her automatic car to tyler's house so that i could drive it and she could drive my standard because i didn't think i'd be able to work my clutch. even driving home killed. i had to go so slow so i didn't hit any bumps. when i got out of the car, because my knee had been sitting still for so long, it cramped up and it took me a good 3 minutes to get from the car, to the door, which is probably less that 10 feet. my mommy put a tenser bandage on my knee for me and got me frozen peas because we didn't have and ice packs (awww i'm gonna miss her). when she finished she said "i'm not gonna get to do this for you anymore." i thought she was going to cry but it was true. in 22 days, she'll be on her way to victoria to live a different life, and i'll be here. i'm going to miss her and this place so much. god.
so anyways, i went to bed at probably 1am last night and woke up at 8am and now i don't feel like going back to sleep. it's probably the sunshine.
i'm supposed to work today but i don't see that happening. my knee feels a little more flexible but it still hurts to walk and bend it too far. i'll have to call in and tell them i can't work it.
on another note... tyler got his baby!!! we went to aggasiz last night and brought home a beautiful baby blue, 1989, 6 cylinder, 5 speed, 4 wheel drive toyota 4runner. it's the most amazing SUV i'v ever seen. we went 4 by 4ing (however the hell you spell that) with it too. we took it up bench road and took it up this wierd scary side road. it was scary gettin up the thing and we didn't wanna have to back down it so we tried to turn around a couple times but that wasn't gonna happen. the road was far too narrow and there were too many stupid trees. so in the end, we decided to just back it down this insane road. holy crap was that ever scary. it was soo much fun though.
anyways, i've got a bunch of things to do today so i'm going to go and start doing them.
