All of these events happened yesterday, but I was so tired when I came home late that I just decided to post it this morning.
Mom and dad took a trip to Fayettville (4 hour drive) to do their taxes, so I was left at the house with no car. Greg calls me up and wants to hang out of the day so I go along with him to get his tires changed and stuff. Then he shows me how far he got onto Kingdom Hearts, WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN MY PHONE RINGS! It's Dennis! Shortly after talking to him, I knew what I had to do. Greg heard me say "Sup Dennis!" and automatically turned off the PS2, grabbed his coat, and was ready. After getting off the phone with Dennis, I knew that I had to rush to that hospital right away.
And then our adventure to the hospital began. I was shaking pretty bad in the car, from a mixture of anxiousness and excitement. Called my parents up and told them what happened and that Greg and I are already riding up there. We park in the parking garage, and walk in. It's around... 6 somethin, I have no idea when visitation ends, so I ask the person at the desk for what room Brittany Lail is in. He told me, and so we go up the elevator and met the security guard. I told him I was here to see Brittany and he started writing down our names, then called the room.
Guard: Yes... Jonathan Trinidad and Greg Whitaker would like to visit?...... alright you guys can go on. But first, I need to show you the directions.
Now, he points to this HUGE map on the table, and it sounds like a freaking adventure quest thing. With stuff like "Go down this hall way until you pass the water fall on the wall, then next, go past the alligators and avoid various pitfalls..." and such. Greg and I enter this hallway of a seemingly long adventure.... but find it to be VERY simple. Go down the hallway, go right, go left, go right and there it is . I stood at the door, very light headed and heart racing, Greg had to knock on it for me. Went in, and was surpsingly greeted with smiles.
Of course, I didn't know who her two friends were, but her mother recognized me and told me about the baby. I sat down, and got to hold him against me. It was really nice, and finally got to see him. His skin wasn't my color, but it wasn't pale white either, more of a reddish tone. His nose looked like mine, but the nurse said that most babies have smushed in noses for a while, just like his ears. He opened his eyes and he had nearly pitch black eyes. I have very dark brown eyes. His hair was straight and brown too. Brittany said that Austin is a product of her and I, and she just knows it. Weighs 8 lbs, I was 10lb. Still having the paternity test done, and Brittany said she's alright with that. The baby does look similar to me, I dont know if it was emotions because his face looked like mine.
Brittany hasn't exactly been feeling good at all from it. Various complications from the birth, but she'll be alright. She was in constant pain, almost to tears when she tried to breastfeed him and he was laying on her stomach causing pressure. I held him for the rest of the time until she had to take a bath, and heard her crying from the pain, it was really sad. I just held him, telling him it'll be alright and that he'll watch Family Guy and other stuff I watch with me. Telling him that when he gets older, he can grow his hair out if he wants and listen to whatever music he wants. Very emotional moment for me just holding him. It was time for us to leave, and I gave Austin to Brittany's mom and was about to leave, then I walked back over to her and told Austin bye bye. She said I can kiss him so I kissed his little forehead and left saying I'll be back tomorrow.
Going to go see him today later in the afternoon, and my parents are comming too since they're home now.
