Fayray - Craving and Hourglass

Requested by a friend. Fayray is a Japanese artist, but lived enough of her life in the US that her English is fairly good. Craving is an earlier album of hers, and I would describe it as typical pop more than anything else. If you want something more upbeat, you may like to try a song or two.

Her style has evolved over time, however, and Hourglass features piano-based jazz pieces that remind me a little of Vienna Teng and similar artists. Fayray now composes and writes the lyrics for her own songs, and if I remember correctly, she also plays the piano for them. The music feels more honest and reflects a deeper maturity both musically and on a personal level, but is nonetheless very easy to listen to. If you decide to download one album, that's the one I would recommend.
