Starting Off Right

Jan 03, 2006 15:33

So it's been a decent start to 2006, at least. I went to church on Sunday, then went out in the late afternoon to watch The Producers, which was easily one of the more fun comedies I've seen for a while. It's translated well from screen to stage and back again. Besides that, really mostly a "sit around and do nothing" sort of day.

Yesterday, I slept late, then watched football while I undecorated for the holidays. Oh, I went out first to get a couple of ornament boxes, since my Christmas stuff is outgrowing the box I had for it. Naturally, I went to a few different places, and none of them had what they'd advertised or exactly what I was looking for. Still, I found some things that actually worked better for (maybe) cheaper, and the apartment is now back to something closer to normal.

I fixed jambalaya for lunch on Sunday, and have been making my way through it since. Mmm, jambalaya.

And tomorrow I leave for a short vacation. Nothing extravagant, since I decided to stash some money away for a rainy day (or maybe a clipper ship cruise at some point), but I will be out of town. And taking more vacation in the first week of 2006 than I took in all of 2005.

Whee, winter vacations!
