I Could Get Used To This

Nice, fairly relaxing weekend. Saturday, I did some shopping at Target early, had one impul--okay, who am I kidding? Had a cartload of impulse purchases and failed to get what I actually went to the store for. But my impulse purchases were $20+ off, while the actual theoretical reason for going was just $5 off regular price. So for the moment, I have a blue denim couch. Yay, slipcovers on sale. Boo, being stubborn idiot and putting a slipcover on a sofa despite a sprained knee.

Saturday lunch was nice. Pho, while not the comfort food for me that it is for chinook_wind, is still nice to go for on occasion. Despite the evil cilantro. Thanks to imperatrix for the invitation.

Saturday evening was spent watching the Princess while sulleniguana and outlawcoon went out to see Serenity and thence to eat, enjoying an evening in adult company sans La Munchkina. Said Munchkina and I got to watch college football while eating, horsing around, reading, and generally having a good time. The knee brace was a godsend.

Sunday, I actually played a little Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks (mmm, impulse purchases on sale!) before going off the the D&D game. The game itself went rather late, prompting much with the tudding after it was over, but was really enjoyable. Banter was fun, fighting was fun, using little-used abilities (running away? have a pseudodragon with Vampiric Touch!) was cool.

Perhaps not as restful as it should have been (well, only because of the late game), but a good weekend with a good mix of being social and at home.

And now I'm back to stress of work. Yay, work-stress! (Yes, that's sarcasm.)

knee, weekend, d&d, role-playing, babysitting, football
