Zounds.

So it's that magical time of really late night/early morning when I notice that my lj exists! I believe this special occasion warrants a post.

Very sad thing I found out this past sunday from the LA Times calendar section: Indie 103.1 is now off the air. This was really the only station that regularly played awesome, new stuffs here in LA. Now don't get me wrong, me and KROQ are all tight liek whoa, but Indie regularly introduced me to random greatness. If it wasn't for Indie, it's unlikely I'd have anything by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Silversun Pickups, Giant Drag; it's unlikely I'd have heard of CSS, Azure Ray, Feist. Just an overall great piece of good in LA, which made it rare. But on the radio waves no more. On a minor upside, it did have a pretty devoted fanbase, and so it still exists(!) on the intertubes at indie1031.com, where you can still listen to it. Several of the hosts of Indie's shows dug their thing so much that they'll continue to put out their groove thangs for the site. I dunno how long it will manage to exist in this current format, but I truly hope they can stick around in this less restrictive format.

Hm. Of the six example groups I listed, 5 have women as their lead vocals. Women just sound better, it's true. Sue me.

State of the WoW: Hitting 80 was way easier than I'd expected, so in the 2 months since, Gralnar has bulked up nicely. I've enjoyed the achievement system very much, despite(also, because of) the fact that it's effectively just geek points, with no real use. Yay, geek points!

Fuck yeah Jager Yoga! ::grooves out:: Don't mess my holiday! XD
Go listen to indie1031.com every chance you get folks. Fo' reals. Til next time!
