Things I have seen that amused me
~ 12 year old boy on the bus shaking his head and fluffing his hair to make sure his emo hairstyle was just so.
~ A little girl sat very prim and proper reading the free Metro newspaper on the bus.
~ A teenage boy walking past the bus with a fleecy baseball cap on that had earflaps.
~ Also, when I arrived home from work last night I saw a fox walking into my bit of the shared garden. At first I thought it was a cat but then I realised that it had a bushy tail and was too big to be a cat. - I was so pleased.
Started Nano last night, after a little bit of procrastination. It went okay; I passed the daily word limit. I don’t think what I wrote was any good but I’ll fix it in the re-write; I think that’s going to be my mantra: I’ll fix it in the re-write. I sat scribbling away while I was on the bus this morning too, I have no idea if I’ll be able to read what I’ve written when I get home so that’s a challenge to look forward to.
Writing in public is a strange thing. I’ve noticed that when I’ve been in a café writing nobody sits with you and everyone ignores you. I’ve spoken to my mum about this and she said she’s had the same experience, and as it turns out, writing on the bus has the same effect. As soon as you get a pad of paper and a pen out of your bag you disappear, no one can see you can see you are while your bent over you pad writing away, everyone pretends your seat is empty, I don’t know why, maybe everyone thinks you must be a crazy artist or something.
