I wanna dance with somebody, I wanna feel the heat with somebody, with somebody who loves me.

Dearest LJ,

I freaking hate you. Don't you know it's not nice to delete the entry that I just spent thirty minutes writing? I never post, and when I decide to make a worthwhile post, you delete it. Crawl off and die. Now. Thank you.

Sincerely,

light_so_yellow

This is the exact reason why I love CTRL+C.

What does that do?

CTRL+C = copy
CTRL+V = paste

That has saved my butt so many times it's not funny.

But it doesn't work if the whole computer shuts off ... :-(

Hm, yes, that's a pain. That's why you type your entry out in Word and save as you go. Or get a really reliable computer like mine.

I don't think any computer can be honestly considered reliable.

Good point, though this computer is easily the most reliable one I've ever used. Hasn't frozen or done anything daft like that in the 7+ months I've had it.

I totally agree. Just look at mine ...

So what exactly does that do? I would just copy and paste the thing if I had the sense to.

I highlight my entry and CTRL+C it before posting so that if there's an error, I can just CTRL+V it back into the update journal part. I sometimes CTRL+C part of the way too, during long entries, just in case I accidentally close the window or do something equally idiotic like that.

Though, truth be told, typing an entry out on Word and then copying to LJ is probably the safest method.

I just right-click "copy", then if the thing messes up, I right-click "paste" onto a new entry. I don't use the keyboard for that.

Keyboard is the quickness, though.
