"Maybe we should both tell her. I know she'd love to get a compliment from her favorite blond boy." Alison smiled at him. She knew he wasn't past this, yet. But, she was going to keep trying until he felt better. The last thing she wanted was for him to regret having children with her.

She snagged one of his fidgeting hands and brought it over to rest on her belly where a very determined foot was kicking. "They're worth all this. I promise."

"She says I'm too old to bounce on her knee. I'd break her patella," he reported a little dutifully. Not that he was admitting to having certain odd conversations about being adopted. Though he did think Tasha would bounce him on her knee. Just from the fact Tasha could heal from it. Maybe.

He smiled a little at feeling that little foot hit his palm. "I know. I just... I wasn't there when my other ones were born. All of 'em. And I don't know how good I'll be when the going gets rough."

"Awww. Well, Mommies are good for other things, too. Maybe you can convince her to read you a bedtime story?" She smiled and winked. Alison wouldn't mind. Although, the jonin would probably think it an odd request.

Longshot eyed the bed. "Well, we could fit three on here. Or we could get a chair brought in..."

He bit his lower lip and nodded. "Whatever you need, Alison. I'll do it."

"She'd probably be more comfortable in a chair." Especially since Alison took up more bed space these days.

"I know you will, Longshot. I have absolutely no doubt that you'll be a huge help to me during childbirth. And then you'll be the best Daddy ever, once they're born." She snuggled in and hugged him. "You'll see."

"What kind of story should I ask her to read?" It could be in two languages! Or more. He wasn't sure how many languages his Haha spoke. But she was fluent in English.

He kissed the top of her head. "I better. I'd miss a lot being blind."
