Normally, Alison would not be in bed this early. It was only just falling dark and she was starting to recognize enough Japanese to have found a few favorite shows on the local TV networks. Bizarre though they may be

Longshot stood in front of the door and scrubbed his hands over his face. He should have been happy, he got things back to hugging with his son. Except he had come dangerously close to losing any relation with Shatterstar.
He sighed and opened the door. He noticed the castle was pretty quiet downstairs. Everybody was in bed already? He shrugged and took off his boots. He made sure the door was at least closed. He personally found it silly to lock the front door. There were ninjas and his wife about, what was there to worry about for safety?
He quietly made his way up the stairs. He did stop to visit his little pygmy marmoset. It wasn't in bed yet and was happy to see him. He played with it for a few minutes before putting it back into the cage. He made sure there was enough water to last the night and went up to his and Alison's bedroom.
He paused in the doorway to watch Alison for a bit.
Every so often, Alison paused her writing and closed her eyes. Her fingers tapped out a rhythm on the pages of her notebook as she listened to the music she was putting together in her head. The music in her mind always sounded like piano chords to her. Like the old, upright piano her grandmother taught her to play.
After a few minutes, she felt the weight of his gaze and looked up from her notebook. "Hey!"
She set her pen down and smiled at him. "I was wondering when I'd see you. How did it go?"
He smiled a little. It was always good to have somebody who wasn't tiny and furry happy to see him. Except Logan. There was suspicion if he was happy to see Longshot. "Hiya."
He pushed himself off the door frame and shut the door behind him. He peeled off his jacket and shirt as he made his way over to the bed. "It went. I think we got things worked out between us."
He hesitated by the bed because he remembered he probably still had the scratch on his neck from where Shatterstar had pressed the knife against his throat. Longshot shrugged to himself and decided it wasn't important. He flopped down on the bed. "We hugged until Ric got up and caught us."
"'Caught you'? What's to catch? You're allowed to hug your son." She looked puzzled as she closed the notebook and set it aside with the pen stuck between the pages.
She curled up to his side and rested her head on his shoulder. Her thumb reached up and gently rubbed at the healing scratch on his neck. Hmm. She probably didn't want to know.
"Sounds like it might not have gone as well as you hoped. But, it worked out okay in the end?"
"Everyone loses their temper sometimes, love. And Star is a singularly frustrating individual. I've lost my temper with him on occasion and nearly lost my voice for the sake of screaming at him. My grandmother used to tell me that children were God's way of teaching adults patience." Usually right after she'd gotten done losing hers with Alison.
She hugged him tightly and kissed the top of his head before she continued to rub his neck and shoulders gently.
"Parenting isn't an exact science and every parent makes mistakes. The point is to learn from them and do better when you know how to do better."
Longshot clung to Alison. "Should never grab a former slave by the back of the neck. I knew that before I did it. But he wasn't listening. Wouldn't listen after that. Then he threw calling me padre into my face..."
It hadn't stung at the time. Mostly because Longshot had no idea what it meant. Now, it hurt to breath after thinking about it. If he weren't holding onto Alison, the Mojoworlder would be a wreck.
His eyes did open once Alison's lips were on his. He blinked in an almost kind of confusion. Then he realized his wife was kissing him well and good. His eyes fluttered back shut as his hands slid up her back from her waist. One hand slid all the way up to cradle the back of her head; the other pressed firmly in the middle of her back to get her closer.
He nodded slightly before slowly pushing in all the way. He let out a low moan once his hips came to a rest against her. The rhythm he started was long and slow, to the point of almost pulling out. He wanted to feel every last inch he could get.
His eyes fluttered closed as he focused on the sensation of his movements.
His breath almost hitched every time she rocked against him. He moaned softly as Alison's breath brushed his ear as she spoke.
"I know," he breathed. "As much as I love you."
He placed a soft kiss right by her ear as he continued to keep the rhythm slow. His body wanted more. He compromised by shortening the length of his thrusts to move against Alison just a tad bit slower but with a little more force.
One of his hands reached up to find one of hers. He carefully pulled her arm from his shoulder by the wrist so he could twine his fingers between hers.
"Mmm... promise you, sweetheart. I feel way better than 'good'." She grinned and nuzzled his temple lightly.
He can move if he wants to, but she's in no hurry to make it happen. Her free hand wanders up and down his back lightly, just enjoying the feel of his skin and the warmth of his body.
"You've done an admirable job of wearing me out. May have to sleep in tomorrow," she teased.
He decided that naaaaah, he didn't want to move. Well, maybe just prop his head up on an arm. He did pout a little. "I won't get to sleep in tomorrow."
Longshot looked down quizzically at Alison. He was glad to hear her laughing again, but she still had managed to confuse him. "So you don't flirt with somebody because you want to kiss them?"
That didn't make sense to him. "Why do something if there's no payoff? It's an exercise in aggravation."
"Nope. No shishkabobbing John. I promised him I wouldn't let it happen to him. Me first if it comes to it." Even though the way the relationships currently worked, John probably was not going to let Longshot get shishkabobbed either. Hrm.
"Some people enjoy it." She shrugged. "I, personally, don't do it because I'm not single and I don't want to give anyone the impression I'm looking elsewhere."
She propped herself up on her elbows and looked down at him with a smile. "How 'bout, if it comes down to it, I'll zap Wolverine and we all run? Then nobody gets shiskabobbed?"

She kissed his forehead and both tightly shut eyes. Kissed each cheek and the bridge of his nose. "Hush, hush. It's alright."
Kissed his lips. Soft at first and then with steady pressure.

"I've noticed your adopted parents do it a lot. Somebody's going to get Wolverine-ed for it, one day." She grinned and shook her head.
