Although a few days had passed, Riza couldn't shake her own dismay at her behavior when Winry had dropped in to check on her. Her first time really visiting with the girl since what she considered a lifetime ago, and what did she do? Practically have a meltdown in a very un-Riza-like fashion after a rather insane emotional roller coaster ride.
It took a bit of thinking and a little more looking, not certain what to get Winry as a gesture of thanks for her help and advice, but when she came across the perfect gift, there wasn't any question about it.
No one seemed to be home when she came by. In a normal apartment building, she would never consider leaving the box and note in a sack on the doorknob, but there? It wasn't a building of strangers. She returned to her own apartment, leaving it behind.
The note was simple, merely thanking the girl for listening to her and for her help the other day, and Riza's name. Inside the box, however...
