Shige showed up ridiculously late with no intention of working hard. He would hear from Andrea later, but he didn't care. Today was a day meant to be lazy. Besides, during the festival, he was told not to touch anything. So, just to be safe, he would just watch from afar, he decided with a smile.
Yuusou glared fearlessly at Shige. She had no personal vendetta against him, but Boss-san greatly disliked him. That was merely enough to throw Shige at the bottom of her shit list, along with his followers.
Yuusou lifted a heavy prop with ease and dropped it by Shige. "You do something!" she demanded with mini burning flames in her eyes. She looked at him wondering why Boss-san didn't crush this bug. After all, he didn't seem to be much of a threat; however, she rarely seen anyone as a threat.
Yuu arrived to their designated area at his own slow pace. He brought along some of his supplies for one of his fire shows. If the others didn't want him to do it, it didn't bother him any. It was something that he enjoyed, but he wasn't getting paid for it so either way suited him fine. He looked at the other members and saw that they weren't doing too much. If they were not going to do anything, Yuu decided that he wouldn't either. At that, he sat down near their float waiting until some direction was given.
Andy sighed quietly as she arrived at the site later than expected. Pin-pointing where everyone was, she waited for each one's attention before motioning them over. She made sure she had everyone, atleast she hoped she did, before speaking. "Okay everyone, I want girls in front, boys in back, everyone have fun, but you must be doing something. After sending everyone else to the float, she turned to Yuu. "Ah, Yuu-san, I do hope you have everything ready, I was hoping to see a fire show today." She smiled gently at him before putting her attention on Shige.
(I'm sorry guys, I missed last post. But hopefully I'm back for a good long while. ^.^)
Yuu stood up as Andrea started talking to him. When she was finished, he gave her a simple nod and smirk that signified that he had everything and would be ready to give a show. He then jumped onto the float and looked around to figure out how much room he would have and what he would be able to do. It wouldn't be his greatest show, but he never did one while on a moving vehicle either. He knew it would be interesting for everyone.
Yuusou turned from Shige, displeased with the call of all females to the front. She was eager to get him to do as she wanted and was tending to do so, but instead she followed a group of girls to the front.
Yuusou doesn't like him! She thought taking one last glance back at Boss-sans enemy.
Okita came running up to where her homeroom was gathered. She was extremely late. She had just hired the new baby sitter for her twins. The baby sitter lived in a different neighborhood making it difficult for Okita to find the house.
Finally finding the house she dropped off the twins and raced to her school.
Placing her hand on her chest she tried to catch her breath. "Sorry---I'm late. My--sister--babysitter." She gulped apologizing to no one in particular as her cheeks burned in embarrassment over her lateness.
She did catch what Andrea mentioned. She knew she would be helping with props. Looking around she saw Yuu on top of the float. During the meeting he said he would bring equipment for the fire show for which Okita had decided to help in.
Climbing up to the float, she walked up to him. "Hi, do you need any help?"
Shige had taken to sitting on the large prop that Yuusou had left by him. "Andy-chan? I was hoping you'd at least be wearing a bikini for me, since Williams-san will not," he said towards the girls.
Yuu was almost finished setting all his equipment up. He had torches, objects to juggle and fire breath with, his lighters, and lighter fluid. He had a routine set up in his mind, but he did not know how he was going to switch out certain objects, especially when he would be on a moving platform. Yuu then saw one of his classmates walk up to him and ask if he needed any help. He pondered for a few seconds and thought that while people can be pests, this girl might have a good use.
"If you want, you can be my assistant throughout the parade. You have to be at my side the whole time and hand me certain objects. We can go over it a few times beforehand, so you don't mess up.", he said not caring if his last statement might offend her.
Okita cocked her eyebrow in response to his slightly offensive remark. She looked back at the other classmates who were participating in the float and juggled the pros and cons of being with him the whole time or joining her classmates.
She chose quickly before turning back to him placing her hands on her hips. "Fine, under one condition, I won't mess up but you better speak to me in a better tone than that." Okita was quick at learning and multi-tasking, she had to being the caretaker of two 5 year olds but she hated rudeness especially coming out from a boy.
Yuu stared at the girl for a moment after she reprimanded him for saying something that he didn't mean to be taken too personally. He always strove for perfection from his shows and it would be extremely dangerous if he didn't. He wasn't in the mood to get on anyone's bad side at the moment and he did need help, so he decided to go along with the girl's request.
"Alright then. Seems like we're in agreement that we both shouldn't mess up. Don't want the whole parade to start on fire, no matter how cool that would look," he said to her before going to reach one of his tools.
"Okay now its time for you to know what these things are and when you have to hand them to me," he said as he started to begin his explanations with what seemed to be the slightest hint of passion in his eyes. Fire shows were one activity that he truly enjoyed, besides making money of course.
Okita gave a small grin satisfied that Yuu did not add "wood to the fire" and just agreed with her.
Her grin quickly dropped to a frown at his joke, Okita did not find the parade on fire amusing at all. She crossed her arms and watched as he reached for one of his tool.
She nodded observing what was on his hand. As he explained, she listened closely and taking mental notes of questions she’ll need to ask as soon as he was done. Noticing his eyes lit up, she interrupted him. "Yuu-san, you really like doing this don't you?"
Yuu was going through the directions as thoroughly as he could until he heard Okita's voice. He was slightly surprised that the question was about himself and not about the explanations given.
"Yeah. I guess so. One of the few things I do like", he answered plainly. He then picked up once of the objects and started looking at it. Not only was it one of the few things he enjoyed, it was one of the few things he had in life. He wasn't going to admit that to anyone though.
"When someone likes what they are doing, it shows on their face," She gave a small smile and lifted her nose towards one of the objects he was holding. She stood quiet once again waiting to listen to the continuation of his lecture.
Still on top of the large prop, Shige was now swinging his feet, repeatedly kicking the makeshift chair. He kept turning his head towards different groups of people, trying to eavesdrop on the conversations around him. He happened to catch Okita's last phrase and called out towards the two without hesitating, "And when a boy likes what you're doing, it shows in their pants."
When Okita heard what was said to Yuu and herself, she arched her eyebrow. Turning to where the voice came from, she saw it was Shige on top of a prop not doing much. This didn't surprise her.
Crossing her arms, she narrowed her eyes at him letting out an annoyed sigh. "Aren’t you supposed to be doing something other than listening in on other’s conversations?"
