i like how gushy she is about working with Damian. awwwww. and very interesting to hear how the "sexing up" of dani's look has been long in the works.

I love that she loves working with Damian and obviously learning a lot from him. Damian seems to be one of those actors who is very giving in terms of performance.

very interesting to hear how the "sexing up" of dani's look has been long in the works.

Yeah, the Network apparently got to them early on, bastards. *cough* I'm still a little bitter.

yeah i think damian has a lot he could teach her. and i mean that in a technical way. she's a good actor but american actors just don't get the same training as the british ones. if the show lasts and the characters are given a chance to grow more, i think she's going to great great things on the show. like really great.

it took them a while to sex up Scully, remember? but that was the early to mid-90s so maybe they thought enormous beige suits were hot back then.

*nods* Yes, one of my theories why the Billie turned in such a good performance as a Rose Tyler because Chris Eccleston was able to guide her and I think that's the same way with Sarah now. I've seen some of her roles before Life and while she was good she didn't stand out as she does now. Certainly, if I'd seen her performance in L Word I would never believe she could play Dani Reese, much less that tense and fraught scene in Powerless

it took them a while to sex up Scully, remember?

But in Scully's case it wasn't 'sexing-up', Scully became more elegant as time passed and in a believable way because she *is* an FBI agent and a doctor. It is in character for her, while the sudden shift in look in Dani (if not explained) would be very noticeable. The change in looks wouldn't be commented on if first season Dani wasn't such a stickler with her rules. Hair up in work, hair down for off duty.

*wry* I think this is one of the thinks we may have to invoke the YMMV rule.
