Carlisle throws a hand up idly to shove at Edward's shoulder, but keeps walking.
A car. They're off to buy a car. Carlisle certainly knows about them, but he's never bought one and kept it for himself before. All the gears and engines and cranking - it never seemed necessary before.
His life certainly has become more complex in the past years.
"I am. There is a particular model I've been interested in for some time, but I never managed to justify the purchase to myself before. I just hope they have it here."
It does look interesting, for as much as Carlisle has been thinking about the possibility and the appearance of it. Edward let him, because it would continue.
And because it did seem rather beautiful an object.
Carlisle nods, recreating the location in his mind. The use of books as a side table for nothing next to a chair he absconded with from an unguarded dumpster.
"The way we live now is definitely an improvement."
Another shrug. Edward's statement is true, but there's not much to add to it.
The car dealership is coming up in another block or so and there's hardly anyone out. Carlisle's fingers brush along Edward's elbow for a mild contact instead of just thinking about the want of doing it.
Edward strayed a step toward him, easily in the cadence of normal walking, so that they brushed closer for two or three steps, but without any overt reaching out.
Uncertain thoughts lingered on the point.
And things he hadn't mentioned, not important yet.
Rolls-Royce is a higher-end line of automobiles; the dealer is plenty excited to see the town's newest physician walk in with a definite and palpable interest in one of the models.
Carlisle looks like a child about to rot his teeth on sweets, even as he maintains his usual calm tone with the proprietor.
Which he's tying.
One would think faster.

Carlisle is two seconds away from tapping his foot, but it's not terribly meaningful in its irritation.

"So much for 'Edward, you should learn to go slow.'"

Carlisle's already out the door with a smile on his face. It won't be that far of a walk to their destination.

"--does not require it."
Especially if anyone around was also doing it.

"You are excited."
It would sound like an accusation.
Except for the level of amusement under it.

It's been marketed as the Silver Ghost.
It just looks...neat.

"It isn't as thought we've acquired much."
In this state. In this city. In this country.

"The apartment?"
The one he was in for a few minutes of his new life.

He'd died there. Not that he felt much about that.
He has memories of himself dying, through the filter of Carlisle's tumult of a million ever changing emotions.
"You had the storage still then."
But it was posed more as a reminder, or a question.
