Peter wasn't really sure why he didn't like thunder, but it had always been there since childhood.  It made him want to hide under some blankets, even as an adult.  It was just one of those irrational fears that he had never been able to control.  For some people it was clowns, or flying, and for Peter it was thunder.

It had been many, many years since he had last run into Nathan's room during a stormy night, but with an invitation to come over, he felt a little better about going to his big brother for refuge.  Nathan wasn't afraid of anything in his eyes--that fact hadn't seemed to change at all as he grew up.

Peter was a little soaked by the time he got to the house, having not brought an umbrella as sometimes those things didn't occur to him until he was already out the door.  Rain was fine, even lightning was pretty cool.  He brushed his wet hair back and knocked on the door.
