Thought that
linebyline is quite an interesting community, but don't want to join yet another community which I'll forget about in the near future, so using their ideas to have some inspiration to start writing, haha..
Dear lover,
Yet again, it's your birthday. Yes, I didn't forget your birthday, I just wanted to give you some sort of a surprise. I planned it such that you'll only be able to read this much much later than the early morning dew on the leaves, or even the golden red sun disappearing off the horizon. It was all in my plan, and I know you'll be trying to hint to me all day about your birthday.
Just to assure you, I didn't forget.
I was just thinking of how to make this day special for you. We've been married for goodness knows how long now, and every year, during your birthday, we've been doing the same thing. You'll wake up early in the morning to the smell of fresh baked bread and fried bacon, with two sunny-side-ups. There always will be a steaming cup of your favourite espresso coffee on the table. Then I'll send you off to work, and before lunch you'll receive a bouquet of daisies, your favourite flowers. Dinner will be at a posh restaurant, and for the past few years, we've tasted so many varieties of cuisines, from Japanese to Italian, from Korean to French.
Therefore, this year, I decided to do something slightly different. I know what you've been thinking these past few months. You think that as you've grown old, and lost your youthful looks, I'm beginning to stumble. You think that I'm beginning to plan to leave you. Oh, how many times have I heard the doubt in your voice when I say I'm working overtime for the day? How many times have I seem the skepticism in your eyes when I arrive home and say that I'm tired and just want to rest for the night?
But truly, I love you. My love for you is more than the transient beauty of your looks, or even the goodness of your heart. I love you more than that, and that I want you to know.
That's why I've applied leave for you at work, without letting you know. That's why I've spent most of what I have saved this year getting two tickets to Hokkaido. I know you've been wanting to go there since the beginning of time, but I've never managed to earn enough or have the time to bring you there. But that's all in the past. Tomorrow, we'll be on the plane to Hokkaido, savouring the fresh sashimi, drinking hot sake, shivering and keeping each other warm in the cold winter night. Don't worry about packing or anything; everything's prepared. Just rest well, cos tomorrow, we'll be over the skies.
Love ya, and happy birthday.
It ended up quite sappy. >.< But hey, I've not been writing for quite some time already, so cut me some slack yeah? Comments and criticisms definitely welcome. =)
