Naminé had no idea what had come over her when she'd decided on impulse to go to this party. After all, she didn't even know a single soul at her new school yet. She'd only heard people talking about it in passing several times over the course of a week, and thought that it might be fun, as well as a good place to perhaps make a few friends. As an afterthought, Tidus did seem to be a visibly friendly and hospitable guy. It almost felt wrong to be frightened by him. Or, to be more precise, by his party. Which was frightening now that it came to her.

She shook her head as though trying to shake away the worrisome thoughts that consumed it. Trying not to let the apprehension show on her face, Naminé then stepped tentatively onto the spacious porch and knocked on the door.

Zidane walked onto the porch, smiling at the girl. "I think Tidus is a bit busy helping the people inside, so I guess we can just head on in." He pushed the door open and allowed her to go in first. "I think I've seen you a few times in the hallways."

"Oh. Okay, thank you," she says, a bit startled by his voice right behind her. In an attempt to be a little less reserved than usual, Naminé added somewhat timidly, "I think I've seen you too... um..." she searched her mind for the name he answered to during roll call, "Zidane. Aren't we in the same algebra class?"

He thought for a moment, then a little bell went off in his head. "Oh, hey, yeah! You're, ah.." he racked his brain quickly for her name. "Naminé, right? I thought it was a pretty name when I heard it, but I didn't know it belonged to someone prettier." A minute ago he was having a nice little 'talk' with Garnet, and now he's back to his sweet-talking. He didn't know if it would work on this girl either, but it was worth a shot.

Obviously not accustomed to being complimented by somebody she barely knew, Naminé could only blink dumbly at him. Her heart then gave a strange, tiny jump inside her chest. Such a thing had never occurred before. And it made her feel warm and happy.

She revealed one of her faint smiles, crystal blue eyes sparkling as she said, "It's very nice to meet you, Zidane."

He grinned back at her, pleased with her reaction to his comment, when he saw her eyes. He'd seen blue eyes before, but not that kind of blue. After staring at them for a few moments he shook his head. "Nice to meet you, too." he replied, putting on another grin.

Zidane moved further into the house, looking around. He wouldn't mind having a home like Tidus'. Unfortunately, he hadn't mastered the art of stealing a house. His shirts were a bit too small for them.

Shaking the idea of thievery from his thoughts, Zidane looked back at the blonde-haired girl. "You planning on swimming tonight?"

Following Zidane into the house, Naminé walked partially behind him with the remnants of an unobtrusive smile still on her lips. She sensed his amusing thoughts of larceny, somehow, in the way that she often did if she concentrated hard enough. It was a gift that came with being a so-called 'witch'. And also why she drew the peculiar things she did.

She reached up to touch the material of her plain yet pretty white dress, stopping herself at the last moment when she remembered that she'd worn a swimsuit underneath her clothing.

"I suppose it depends on how I feel later on," she answered. "What about you?"

He nodded his head. "I ran off from the girl I came with, who is kinda angry with me, to go home and get my swimming gear because I forgot it. So yeah, I'm going in the water sometime tonight."

With so many people inside, Zidane wondered if anyone else would be swimming. Maybe they were all waiting for something? Whatever the reason, the pool was calling for him. He hadn't swam in ages and was eagerly looking forward to doing so tonight. "Do you wanna go sit by the pool or something with me?"

Curious about who the girl was, but not wanting to pry, she nodded her head once as she replied, "Sure. I'd be glad to."

Naminé hadn't gone swimming for a long time, after all, even though she did highly enjoy the sport. She looked forward to it. She looked forward to doing it even more with her new-found friend.

"Great!" He said cheerfully as he moved towards the stairs that led to the upper level. He wasn't sure where the bathroom was, but he'd find it. "I've gotta get changed first. I'll meet you out there, alright?"

A thought came to him. Where were his manners? "Unless you have to change too, then you can use the one upstairs. I'll find another one."

Naminé shook her head.

"No, it's all right. You can get changed. I... I have my swimsuit on underneath... my clothes," she said, a small pale blush creeping over her fair-toned cheeks. She turned away quickly in an endeavor to hide her face from him. "I'll be waiting at the pool, Zidane."

Zidane hopped up the stairs, grinning. "I won't be long!"

He walked around, peeking his head in a few rooms until he found the right one. Seeing the bathroom, he let out a surprised whistle. It was clean, well decorated, and pretty much everything his bathroom at home wasn't.

When he remembered he was in there to change, not to ogle, he shut the door and quickly switched from clothes to trunks.
