.....it's time to play in a natural spring!
I LOVE this photo so much and am going to get an 8x10 print of it to hang on the wall.
It was HOT today.....we were all moping around the house complaining that it was hot so Jason said "Ok guys, pack up some food and lets go to the state park for a picnic."
There is a state park about an hour from here that has a big spring, the water comes out of a underground cave and is ice cold. So we loaded up and spent the afternoon there. It was a little rough on Jason because he has a badly sprained ankle but we all had fun and it was nice to be out of the hot house.
Yay - picnic!
I fear the sun- it causes cancer. But I also fear sunscreen 'cause it's full of cancer causing chemicals. What's a girl to do!? My solution: A have a huge, floppy, straw hat that protects me, a hat that Jason absolutely hates and says he would rather I get cancer than be caught in public wearing. lol But I haven't gotten a sunburn since I got it, so I don't care what I look like.
Pretty flowers
Rock walls
Big tree roots
Testing out the self timer...
Bridges
And toe numbing water! Seriously the water was so freakin' cold! I tried to wade in it but couldn't stand it, so I just dipped the tips of my toes in once in a while.
This is what I do for the first 10 minutes....he wanted in so bad! He's such a water bug! If he sees water anywhere he runs for it.
Testing out more then toes.
He finally got away from me and jumped in.
Jarod decided to go next.
"Come on in Rebecca...it's not that cold..."
She went for it!
They swam for a long time while Jason and I sat on the rocks and watched, a cool breeze coming out of the cave - so relaxing.
Then it was time to go back to the picnic area for dessert. Here's Alex trying to catch up with Jarod.
Yay - Smores!
Jarod is wore out!
It was the perfect lazy Sunday afternoon!
