Why, may you ask, is Claire to be found picking bits of congealed rice off the floor at 3am?
Because she is lazy and didn't bother washing up the pan when she ate the rice for dinner....3 days ago.
Then, when she finally comes back to the pan to wash it up, she finds that the remaining rice has formed a large, glutinous mass, which she then proceeds to accidentally drop on the floor, where it shatters into a million pieces.
I strongly advise anyone to wash their dishes and pans AS SOON AS THEY HAVE FINISHED USING THEM.
(Yes, I am fully aware that I am a total hypocrite...)
