Footsteps Project : 42
I love 42. Not even the double whammy of Chris Chibnall and Cindy Beale could dampen my anticipation for this over the Eurovision break! I couldn't wait to watch it last year because it sounds like the kind of episode that's right up my alley. I love the small, intense, performance driven episodes and despite the fact that 42 is set on a big ass space ship, it could just have easily been set in one room. And the big question is when you think you’re left with no choice, how far will you go to save someone you love? Kath McDonnell killed herself and her husband, rather than let him continue to be the monster he became. Francine Jones betrayed her daughter to Harold Saxon because she was convinced the Doctor was bad. The Doctor himself got posessed by the sun while trying to save Martha. And Martha only chose to leave the posessed Doctor’s side when a better course of action to save him emerged. She didn’t leave because she was afraid she’d die too. Of course, none of this is an explanation, or a synopsis of what I’ve done. I just love 42, which is why I swiftly laid claim to it for the Footsteps project!
