I went to a senior piano recital with a friend because she needed to get credit for a class. The recital was awesome. No one spoke, nobody introduced the songs she just played, and it was great. After experiencing the classical piano that evening, I almost felt guilty when I turned on the car and the classic rock station was dialed in. I quickly changed the station and began to search for music that could somewhat compare to what I had previously enjoyed. I stumbled upon 89.3. An orchestra was heard loud and clear playing with such passion and emotion. I literally got chills. The fact that my car doesn't heat up very quickly may have added to that, but the music was beautiful. After the song a smooth voice told me I was listening to NPR. What, I was listening to NPR. Am I like 40 or something. It rocks it really does. I've been listening to it for like two days straight. The programs are really great. Jazz, Classical, Folk, and many other styles. There news casts are great cause I'm actually informed on whats happening. It's all very interesting. I'm not giving up my classic rock, but tonight while driving home I was listening to a speech by a professor on the label of an Anti-Semite and how loosely it is thrown around. In the seriousness of his speech I couldn't help but think of Seinfeld and how uncle leo blames everything on anti-sematism. He was british and was talking about Americas extremely close ties with Israel. It was almost like listening to a book on tape, and anyone who knows me well knows of my love for books on tape. Don't even get me started on Prairie Home Companion. You need to hear this show. It has to be the very best thing I have ever heard on radio. It's hilarious. It comes on every Saturday night at 7:00. NPR is a really great station. I never thought I would say that, but its true. Don't knock it till you try it.
