As I stepped out of my jeep, my feet once again united with the graveled parking lot on top of Monte Sano mountain. I noticed the thermometer on my consul read 38 degrees just before I turned off the engine. I quickly grabbed my handy polar synthetic toboggan and I was off. Two couples dressed in yuppie edie bower casual wear ran past me toward their car. They were complaining about how it was to cold and to foggy to see anything. I silently laughed to myself. As I adjusted the straps on my day pack, I was slowly engulfed by a canopy of orange reds. The only sound I could here was the soft crunch of the trail under my shoes and the rustling leaves being tossed by the wind. Yes, it was foggy but the hazed white backdrop only accentuated the vibrant colors of the trees. Each leaf bared its own unique shade. Some were bright red, others were as orange as a blazing fire. It was absolutely wonderful. I thanked God right there for letting me be a part of His creation. It amazes me how a person can look at a scene like that or something even more miraculous and believe it all came along by chance. No only God could create something so finite and intricate as a leaf. Only God could create something so vast and marvelous as a the heavens themselves. No chance, no bang could ever make such an amazing work of art. I walked every trail I saw, I would have covered that entire mountain if the sun stood still. My vocabulary does not contain words to describe the joy I feel when I am in the presence of my God.
