dream about ex-girlfriends and newton's first law.

sometime early this morning i had a brief dream whose scene was set with me and my first girlfriend Rebecca in our bed. We had just woken up from slumber and were cuddling and being lazy.

The first part of the dream that i remember was a brief conversation about our relationship in the dream, which was prompted by me saying a sentence like, "...our relationship," to which Rebecca immediately replied as if out of a protective reflex, "Our loose relationship." I looked into her eyes and saw her distress, and i replied back with gentle eyes and a gentle voice, "i know," in an effort to calm her.

The second part of the dream in which i remember was minutes later when we were trying to decide whether or not we were going to get up or not, and i declared the following statement: "Objects in motion tend to stay in motion; objects in bed tend to stay in bed." We both laughed and decided to stay in bed for just a bit longer.

I haven't put a lot of real thought into Rebecca since january of 2010 when i happened to glance at the erotica book on my bookshelf that she gave me when we were still together. I tend to think that her presence in the dream wasn't really about her, it was more symbolic of the struggles i've been going through recently with various relationships and the resultant amount of thought i've been putting into relationships in general as of late.

which has had its ups and downs, but if it produced a dream that created a dorky joke, then that's pretty worth it in my opinion.

dreams, life, relationships, people
