the only mobile phone carrier i've ever been a part of is verizon. i think i'm going on ten-ish years as a verizon customer.

pretty much the entire time i've been with them i've never had any issues with calls or texts or receptions; on average i think a call would drop once every three months or slightly less. granted, i don't use the phone * ( Read more... )

Interesting...

We have AT&T out here and it's been ok. We have have the Sony Xperia, Android platform not iphone so I don't know if that matters or not.

my iPhone is an old one, an original just when they went 3g. I"m sure i would have less problems with the new iPhone, but i think that's less to do with older technology and more to do with a deliberate prioritization for new phones.

I am really curious to see if see verizon network will go to crap after more people get on the network when the new iphone comes out.

i've started a google calendar event that's going to send my phone a text message every two hours from the hours of 10:00 and 00:00 to see how often (if ever) the text gets dropped

Fantastic! I love when people try to prove their theories instead of just assuming they're true and spreading them around like they're facts.

My iPhone on AT&T actually did that a fair amount (no texts until I reboot the phone, but it still told me I had full bars).

I kind of wish I'd never switched to AT&T because I was only with them for like 10 months, but now when I call T-Mobile they say "thanks for being a customer for six months!" instead of "thanks for being a customer for nine years!" :(

The performance monitoring company I work with reported no change in verizon's US mobile network performance before and after the iphone intro.

All of this is very local, though.
