you said you wanted to fly one afternoon
so I picked you up off your feet
and carried you away in my arms
and you soared
as weightless as a feather in the breeze
I said I wanted to die one night
so you kissed me passionately on the lips
heart trembling
and you took my breath away
saying it'll never return
it was the bliss of summer
that had us shaping each others hearts
with our most delicate hands
build me a sand castle
so tall it could touch the clouds
so soft it could melt in the rain
and when our castle turns to mud
I'll take you by the hands
and guide you to the secret cove I built
within our crumbling dreams
under the eye of the storm
from monsoons unto May
I will love you
remembering our days
of sweatbreaks
in abandoned cars
and naked thirst
of curious lips
from fall leafs unto winter dreams
I will forever forget
your eyes that sparkled
under the ray of sunlight
like diamonds
forever forget
the way in which
you filled me up with so much hope
leaving me begging for more
you had the prettiest smile
pearl perfection and decadence
stood out amongst the crowd of beach goers
with sunshower skin
and tan lines
from bikini lies and laughter
of midsummer drunken fires
your blondes blushed
under the rage of sunrise
and we danced along the shores
until sunset of bitter goodbyes
to the symphony of love and desire
like the white tips of the crashing waves
swept out into the sea
like love notes trapped in a glass ship
without sail to guide
sinking under the weight of our sorrow
we were so far from home
that month of August
We were hunting for the answer
"is this real?"
never knew we would become the prey
consumed in the contempt
of midsummer dreams and lust
I said I wanted to die one night
so you kissed me passionately on the lips
and you took my breath away
and it has never returned
I've held my breath all this time
waiting for your return
letting love hibernate
letting souls burn out
I've held my breath all this time
waiting for your return
