I went to eat brunch with Bryan today and then drove on over to Peet's to pick up my paycheck.  As I was heading back home, I noticed a few things: the tranquil sidewalks of Millbrae, the multitude of trees lining East Hillcrest, the fact that I was actually driving ...

Trucks are for people who don't have enough money to get their own cars so they have to use the trucks that once belonged to their grandfathers.

I have to agree with Jeremy...

And as for the city... Maybe it's just because I grew up with it, but I guess it'll be a novel thing at first, but you get used to it pretty quickly and it's really not a scary place... Especially some place like Columbia (because it's kind of a bubble, unlike NYU, despite all of the town-gown intermingling). The subways don't rattle all that much and the really tall buildings are further downtown :), plus public transportation kicks the ass of driving.
