Overthinking is My Middle Name
I keep stressing myself over my upcoming trip to Chicago for my cousin Sean's wedding. It's not the wedding or the flight that is eating at me. It's how I will get to and from the airport and the hotel. It's also what I'll wear. I've been trying to shop for a dress for a while and I can't find anything that isn't crazy expensive or in a style I like for a cocktail dress. I'm a mess.
Day 20:
Mutemath "Mutemath"
Favorite Track(s): "Stall Out", "Reset"
I liked "Typical" when it was released as a single years ago but never thought more about it. I heard another couple songs and figured Mutemath deserved a look. I liked the album as a whole but it was a little same-y. I also wasn't expecting the sound to be ethereal or closer to an indie rock band instead of a pop punk/alt sound. A few of the tracks too wound up going on longer than they should have but that also wasn't a complete negative.
I was thinking partway though, that the song titles and some of the lyrics could have been about Twilight Zone episodes rather than just the regular love/relationships/life, etc. Would be fun if that were true or if someone had a concept album along those lines.
